The architectural concept for the custom floor
The result of the collaboration with the Doshi Levien design studio, BOLON BY YOU is a unique concept that allows architects and designers to participate in the process of creating the floor they imagine for their projects. The collection offers the choice of 6 patterns inspired by art, culture and fashion, 4 warp thread colors and 12 weft thread colors. Doshi Levien
Doshi Levien is an internationally recognized design studio, founded by designers Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien. Nipa grew up in India and studied design at the International Institute of Design, based on the manifesto of Charles and Ray Eames. Jonathan has worked in cabinetmaking and industrial design. They met at the Royal College of Art and have been collaborating together for over ten years in their design studio in London.
Both brought several influences into their work. Nipa's approach is based on the plurality of his education and his keen eye for aesthetics, while Jonathan's has its roots in industrial precision, combined with the sensuality of manual work and an intimate knowledge of materials. Expressing itself across different disciplines and sectors, Doshi Levien's work celebrates the "hybrid" and explores the meeting between cultures, technology, industrial design and quality craftsmanship.
Doshi Levien have to their credit collaborations with major brands like Moroso, Kvadrat, B&B Italia, Cappellini, Camper, Swaroski, Galerie Kreo, but also museums and cultural institutions.
